Civitavecchia is one of the most important towns in northern Lazio. Located about 90 km north-west of Rome, is famous above all for its harbor, which is the second in Europe for number of passengers passing through each year.
The town, however, is also known for other attractions that, too often, are not known by the thousands of people who arrive there. One of these is “Forte Michelangelo”, a fortress which was built to protect the port in the first half of the sixteenth century, during the pontificate of Pope Paul III. Legend has it that the main tower of the fortress was designed by the famous sculptor and architect Michelangelo Buonarroti.
Another important attraction is the Christopher Columbus Antemural, a dam, that was built, like Forte Michelangelo, to protect the port basin from the waves and ensure good safety conditions for the ships that arrive and stop there.
Getting to Civitavecchia is not very difficult. It is located along the SS1 Aurelia highway; there is also a real highway that connects this municipality directly to Rome: the A12. There is also a city station (part of the FL5 railway line) which connects the most important Capitoline station, Roma Termini, with the Tuscan city of Grosseto.
Another very comfortable and economic way to get to Civitavecchia is the taxi service. The taxi service can take you from the city of Rome to the town on the Tyrrhenian Sea, but also to the two most important airport ports: Fiumicino and Ciampino. The advantage is that, using this service, you are picked up where you want and taken to the precise point required.
Our company and staff (drivers) attended a course at the port of Civitavecchia which allows our vehicles and passengers to access the boarding area under the ship / cruise.
So the customers who rely on our service will be taken / left directly in front of the ship / cruise
